Promoting employment of persons with disabilities

Initiatives to Promote Employment of People with Disabilities

Marubeni Seafoods has been accepting trainees from special needs schools since November 2015 in order to expand employment of people with disabilities. As of April 2023, three employees with disabilities are focusing on sales assistance, PC operation, cleaning, and other general clerical work in the same workplace as able-bodied employees, achieving the statutory employment rate for persons with disabilities.
In addition, we do not just hire people with disabilities, but also aim for their long-term retention in the workplace and to make them more competitive. Our staff members in charge of guidance take courses to become certified “vocational life counselors for persons with disabilities” and “supporters of persons with disabilities in the workplace” to provide a more secure and rewarding working environment.

Currently, Marubeni Seafoods is a registered company in the “Supporter Project for Persons with Disabilities in the Workplace*1” sponsored by the Tokyo Shigoto Foundation, and is working to promote employment of persons with disabilities.
